Schools Out For "Winter"

Yay, today I just finished my last final for school. This was a long semester. The first 3 months are like a blur because I was so sick and then the last couple months have been me trying to keep up. I did it, I'm done! Here are some of the things I have been working on...

For almost a year now I have been working at Gowns by Pamela, altering wedding dresses. This has been a great experience for me because I was able to learn how to work on an industrial machine, work on my sewing skills and meet some incredible people. I will miss all my brides and my lovely boss Lisa. :-)

Another exciting thing about this semester was I was an intern at Anthropologie. This was amazing. I mainly worked on the big holiday window display. Now I work on merchandising, visual displays, and just working close with all managers learning how the store runs and operates. In the pic. above, these are called "tie ons". Its crazy, adding this little match and sandpaper make the sale of these candles go way up. That's what I love about Anthropologie, EVERYTHING is so well thought out and done to interest the costume in buying more. Its like a big game.

More "tie Ons," these took about 5 hours to tie all these little ropes onto these candles.

Part of the holiday windows. Go to any Anthropologie and look for these big poofs. They were so fun to make. (not really) We used over 1,000 for our windows. :-)

Millinery class. A Little Pillbox hat I made.

A fun straw hat. I want to go to the Kentucky Derby to wear this one.

I don't recommend making a men's dress shirt. This shirt took me so long to construct. I am proud of it though. (Sorry he looks kinda funny with no pants on)

There was some of the work I have done this semester. I had a fun semester but I am very excited to have a break!!

The Best Find

Last Saturday night I find these amazing pants. They are leggings but they look like jeans. Can we say perfect for all the long shirts I have been wearing. I found them at A Pea in the Pod. The other week I finally stopped trying to fit into my normal jeans. I just couldn't squeeze in them and my belly band just wasn't cutting it anymore. So, I started out on my quest to find a cute pair of maternity skinny jeans. Also, I didn't want to spend the money to get designer either. BTW, why are all maternity jeans flare at the bottom. As if your not big enough on top maybe you should balance that with a skinny instead of a huge flare. That was my biggest challenge. Maternity jeans are huge all the way down. I found this great brand called Lilac. I love them. My friend at school creates them and she has them all over the US. They fit great and have a decent price point. Then I found these dream legging pants. I have never been more excited about a pair of pants.

Winter Is Here

Well, last week I was just wondering when we would get snow. Now I wondering when will it stop snowing? I really love the snow when I can stay at home and enjoy it outside my window. I love it at night because everything is so bright and lit up. BUT today for example, I went down to Salt Lake for school and then over to work. I sat in traffic for over 1 1/2 hours. The snow plowers were nowhere to be seen. All the roads were the ugly gray slush and all backed up, and I saw tons of accidents all over. The best part is it is suppose to snow all day tomorrow too. Oh the joys of snow!! Happy Winter Everyone...

Here is a pic. I took while I was in the car. I thought this was the pretty side of snow.

I don't want you to get confused but this was the high today. :(

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a blast down in AZ. The weather was perfect, the food was to die for, and the company was priceless. I even made the Turkey this year. I found the recipe that we used and Jaime and I seasoned that Turkey up. Our favorite moment is when we announced to my family we are having a boy. So, every year my mom has everyone around the table at our big Thanksgiving dinner to say what they are grateful for. My niece Lillie didn't want to go first and she picked my to start. So I started it off with a bang. Everyone was so excited.

Here are the top ten things I'm thankful for this year.

1. A loving and hard working husband. He will do anything to make sure me and the baby are taken care of.
2. A wonderful huge family that I love more than anything. Even though we are all spread out, AZ, CA, NV, IL, & UT every time we are all together again its as if we have never left.
3. Wonderful friends that I can count on.
4. My health
5. The ability to learn and be able to be in school.
6. The gospel for how much joy it brings to our life.
7. A wonderful mother I hope to be like
8. The ability to have a baby.
9. Our little dog Duke.
10. Living in Utah and being around such incredible people

Oh Chicago

Last week I went out to Chicago to visit my fabulous sister. She just had Gwen about a week prior. Gwen is so adorable. She was such a good baby too. I liked it because I really just watched Jenna with this newborn. I couldn't believe that that will be me in May. I just watched her every move and observed. If I am as good as amom as Jenna, and If my baby is as good a Gwen I got it all under control. :-)
I got to play with Davis a lot. He is such a busy boy and hope my kids are as cute as he is. I had so much fun. Thanks Jenna and Dennis for letting me come out and visit. I love you and miss you.

The past couple months

I was talking to Jenna today and she said, Why don't you update your blog? My response was I haven't done anything lately. I have been eating a lot of fast food, felling sick, and sleeping. The past 2 weeks I have finally felt like myself again. Looking back the past two months have been such a blur or nothing. It feels good not to be sick.

The only really fun Halloween thing we have done was go pick out our pumpkins. It was fun. We went to a pumpkin patch and attached to it was a apple orchard. So we picked some apples too. They had the best Apple Cider ever too. I bought this huge thing of it and already drank it all. I don't think Garrett even had one class. sad thing is we haven't even craved them yet. I haven't even thought about Halloween other then today. I have been online seeing what fun thing we should do. So far I have come up with nothing. Maybe we will just rent movies and eat looks of fun things. I don't know. If anyone has any ideas on what to do in Utah let me know.
Another eventful thing happened on Tuesday. We received our first snow. Yeah that's right there was snow on the ground. It was so cold I thought I was going to die from frost bite. Now the highs have been in the 40's. Winter is here...

Update

Thank you for all the advice and congratulations. We are really excited. Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I guess I have been really busy. To start off with I went down to AZ about 2 weeks ago. I didn't take any pic so sorry. It was so fun spending time with family and friends. We just hung out and ate whatever sounded remotely good to me. It was weird because I was still so tried and so sick. I stayed home a lot and took naps.

Then, I flew home Sunday the 4th and Garrett flew home that same day. He had been gone almost 3 weeks. (That's why I took off to AZ) It was his birthday that Sunday. We were both so tired and I was so sick so we didn't to a huge thing for him. I felt bad. We went to dinner, he opened some presents. I didn't even bake him a cake. I am a bad wife. Later that week part of his birthday was Thriller tickets. That was incredible. We had so much fun. Again no pic. I brought my camera but I had forgotten to put the memory card back in it. After that, Garrett stayed home for 1 week and 1/2. It was so fun having him around. He just left yesterday and gets back Sat. So this trip isn't too long.

Another exciting event that took place is we went to our first doctors appointment. Our Doctor is really cool. Everything is normal and I got a little pic. of our little peanut. After seeing the picture it made all my sickness worth it. It made it so real now. Before I felt I was just sick and gaining weight, but now after seeing the baby and hearing the little heart beat I m OK with it. Hopefully I wont stay sick for to much longer.

Glee

If any of you don't watch this TV show you should. I laugh so hard in it. Its about a Glee club and how they are trying to make it popular. Anyways, yesterdays show was hilarious. The sang and danced Beyonce, Single Ladies.

You have to watch it. The football team does the dance...

College Football

Well its official. I have really lost my husband. Yes, some wives are understanding what I am saying because they to know that college football has started again. When we were first married it was mind boggling to me when Garrett could sit on the couch all day and watch football. Now, 2 1/2 years down the road I get it. I think. I just make a party out of it. The guys bring there wives and we all have fun.

On a completely different subject, Swiss days was last weekend. I haven't had time to post my incredible finds yet. With school starting again, already I have been slacking on my blog. I was so proud of myself for posting so often. That week was fun. Jaime came into town to take care of some stuff for Swiss Days for Baby Laundry. It was a very fun and busy week. Here is what I have found.

McCall's mom makes these purses. They are wonderful.

Hope on the Range

The other night, I attended a charity event with some friends. It was for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. It was incredible. First, here is a little history about it. I just feel like everyone should know what they are doing here in Utah and how remarkable it is.

Huntsman Cancer Foundation's sole purpose is to fund the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute: to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.

My friend works for a diamond company that donated to this event, so she got a table, and that is how I got to go . The theme was "Hope on the Range," cowboy themed held at the Grand America Hotel. It was so fun. There were people there that I never thought I would meet. People were donating left and right. It was amazing to see. I think they raised in one night over $500,000. There were 2 auctions. One a silent one and the other with a real auctioneer. You know, talking all fast. That was pretty cool to see. I met some great people. I met Elder Ballard, and Elder Scott. It was neat to see them in a normal setting and helping out with this cause. Here are so pics from the night.

Yes, we got to take the sweet center pieces home.

This was the Auctioneer. I couldn't even understand him when he did his thing...

What is a cowboy theme without Rodeo Queens? The thing I found amazing about them is they were sporting all leather. Yes their entire dresses were made out of real leather. Can we say hot and sticky.

We make such cute cowgirls.

Back To School

Tomorrow is my first day back to school. I'm excited to get back into it. I have two semesters left and I am finally done. This semester I talking a lot of classes, but the ones I'm most excited about is my hat making class and my costuming class. It will be like Project Runway style. We will have to create amazing things out of whatever our teacher gives us. We will also learn how to reconstruct already made clothes. The best part, we will be designer costumes for a dance company in Salt Lake. Fun stuff!!

Oh ,wanted to give a shout out to Project Runway for FINALLY coming back on TV. Its on lifetime,Thursday nights. I Love this show.

The Sweetest Find

So Garrett has a favorite gas station where he loves buying his browns. Every time we go we past by this place called, Beyond Glaze. I have always wanted to go in and today we did. Oh my gosh. This place has the best donuts I have ever tasted. All I can say is WOW. We got a ton to try. Her are some to show you. Every donut starts as a glazed donut and then Beyond Glazed adds the toppings to it. In the picture there is a cherry chocolate, key lime pie, cookies and cream, and s'mores.

The Joy of Running

Liz's post a couple days ago inspired me to think about what I'm grateful. She made a list but I'm just going to say the ability to run. I love running. If any of you have seen the movie, "What Women Want," that is completely how I feel about it. It is away get away from everything. No one can contact you, you are just listening to whatever music you want as loud as you want. I live by a river and I run on it almost every day. I can't even tell you how peaceful it is and how much it clears my head or just makes me feel good. You are getting skinnier, you are outside in good weather, and when you get home you feel like you can do anything that comes your way that day.

I'm not excited for the winter months ahead, because I am to much of a baby to run in the snow. So its inside treadmill time again.

I am truly grateful that I can run.

Newport

What more could I have asked for last week? The entire Fuller clan went down to Newport for our annual Newport Beach Week. It was a blast. We ate, shopped, laid out, buggy boarded, body surfed, kayaked, and so much more. Here is a little recap.

What is a reunion without matching shirts??

Cute little Brookie

Thanks Mom and Dad for the Alaska gifts!

Our first day in Newport I was so excited to get down to the beach but Garrett was still so tired from driving until 3 am the night before. So I tried to make it difficult for him to fall back asleep. :-)
Crystal Cove is turning into my favorite beach. The shake shack is good.

Carrie and I with Maycee and Berlin.

We ventured back to our old home, Huntington Beach. I miss living there. It is so pretty.

One day we went down to Dana Point. It was more of a cove so you can rent Kayaks and things. we had so much fun. The waves were a little challenging to get through.

Our last night all the adults went out. We went out to Balboa and ate at this restaurant that overlooked the ocean. It was so pretty.

I loved last week. Now we are back, Garrett already flew out for the week and its back to reality for me. Till next year.
